Writing it down
I have thought about writing more for some time now, for various reasons, but getting started is tough going in a number of ways.
Altruistic reasons
It might be hubris, but I'd like think that I've discovered a thing or two, and since those least useful to hear from usually aren't particularly shy, I should perhaps speak up.
I'm apparently getting old, because I am perfectly willing to make a fool of myself. If all I accomplish is to provide a decoy for someone else with something useful to say, I'm happy to do it, and I'll call it a win.
Selfish reasons
I believe the recurring remarks saying that you only master a topic once you teach it, because doing so exposes the weaknesses in your thinking.
There are a bunch of things I'd like to bore you with the details of, but I can just rubber duck it, there's no need to corner an actual 'you'. Howling into the void is completely fine for this purpose.
I also have a completely separate reason for starting now, but that is perhaps something for another time.
